If you haven’t seen this viral video above, it’s the perfect example of authentic content that can become viral with very little cost to the producers!

The problem with most companies is that they try too hard. They sit in a boardroom for four hours and “strategize” their “viral video” to promote their product or brand. The problem is that the interweb hates sales pitches and won’t bother forwarding your video to their friends if it’s a commercial.

The first thing you need to understand is that it is VERY DIFFICULT and EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that you can “create a Viral Video.” What you can do is CREATE GREAT CONTENT!

The whole part where your content goes viral is mostly organic and will do it without you pushing.

If you ever have to beg a friend to “Please repost this video,” then that simply means that you do not make a truly “viral” video.

Viral content is a creature of its own. It will get passed on and reposted on every Facebook page and Twitter message because it has great content.

Basically, these “viral” videos need to be so good, that not passing it on would seem illogical and passing it on would make the “passer” get some cool points.

Again, get that “Make a Viral Video” idea out of your mind! That mindset won’t get you far. What you need to do is MAKE GREAT CONTENT! Becoming “viral” is the result of your great content.

Some no-no’s if you want to make viral content include having too much branding and trying too hard. If you’re ever going to put any branding in your content that you want to go “viral.” It has to be either very subtle or the content has to be absolutely amazing! Again, no one wants to pass on a commercial (unless it’s one hell of a great commercial).

The guys on the video above titled: “Jobs Philippines – American Taxi Drivers,” Tory and Jason, are going to be my guests on Mellow 94.7 to talk about this video. They will also be my guests as I speak at the “EntrepSummit: Technopreneurs Reveal their Secrets” seminar at the Mall of Asia, organized by the Manila Junior Chamber (Manila JCs). I’ll be talking about “How to Go from Zero to Hero,” – Gaining popularity with online branding, internet marketing and help from the internet.
