Sunscreens with an SPF of 40 or 50 provide significantly more protection against UV rays than SPF 30 sunscreens.
FICTION
Tests have shown than sunscreens with an SPF of 15 block 93 percent of UV rays, while SPF 30 sunscreens block about 97 percent. Anything higher than 30 still hovers around 97 percent. The Food and Drug Administration has recommended limiting SPF values on sunscreen labels to SPF 30 to prevent consumers from spending more time in the sun than they should
