Happy Even After: Free Workshop for Single Moms

Happy Even After: Free Workshop for Single Moms

There are various reasons why one becomes a single parent. The most common reasons being by chance or by deliberate choice in the case of ending a bad relationship.

But there are also other reasons one becomes a solo parent. One may have lost their partner; or are raising nieces and nephews as their own as guardians (a common occurrence here in the Philippines considering our extended families) or those whose partners are OFWs.

As different as their reasons may be, solo parents all have to deal with the daunting and difficult balancing act of being both a father and mother to a child. They all need guidance on how to cope and information on how to best raise their children under such circumstances.

Sex and Sensibilities.com, a website that aims to empower women by arming them with rights-based information will hold a workshop for solo parents on November 14.

Ana Santos, founder and editorial director of Sex and Sensibilities.com and writer Karen Kunawicz, will speak about their individual experiences on single parenting and share their insights.

Knowing that the start of feeling good is looking good, The Body Shop will also give a short demo to teach the participants how to put on make-up in the least amount of time.

This is a FREE workshop and a pilot test for Sex and Sensibilities.com (SAS) who has received many inquiries and requests about holding workshops/dialogues for solo parents. If successful, SAS will roll out a workshop series that will tackle other aspects of solo parenthood: financial management and budgeting, finding the right yaya, legalities, blended families, and dating again.

“Happy Even After” will be on November 14, Sunday at 9am-11am. Venue is the 2F of Starbucks Ortigas Home Depot, J. Vargas Avenue, Ortigas. Slots are limited. Please reserve your FREE slot by messaging 0927.307.9608.
