I am absolutely honored to be on this list of the Top 30 Under 30 Honorees by the Pilipino American Unity for Progress UniPro

Comprised of young professionals and students, Pilipino American Unity for Progress (UniPro) is a state certified non-profit NGO that was established in 2009. Bonded by the common vision of promoting unity within the community, UniPro seeks to educate, collaborate and stimulate dialogue amongst Pilipino American organizations, programs, and institutions. UniPro also engages in various projects that promote the Pilipino community in American society.

Their mission is to promote cohesion within the Pilipino American society–its organizations, programs, and community for the collective progress of the community.

Certainly overwhelmed to be included on this list! Thanks so much to the people at the Pilipino American Unity for Progress UniPro for somehow recognizing any work I’ve done. Again, truly humbled by this and still unsure of how I made this list.

Top 10 Cutest Asian Bloggers! (cyber cuties part 1)

Ok so in doing all my internet research and stalking hotties online online work, I’ve realized that there are a lot of very beautiful bloggers in the interwebosphere! These full time, top bloggers are usually a combination of talent, beauty and smarts. Many of them have used the internet as a catapult to shoot them straight to the top of the media world.

What’s even more impressive is how these online entrepreneurs are, finding creative ways of using their talents and passions, and sharing it with the world in such a way that makes us all want to listen to them.

I’ve made this short list of top bloggers who are indeed in a league of their own and who also posses the drop dead gorgeous looks that make their geeky minions drool for every new blog post they create. I listed them in no particular order, and have split it up into two parts.

Pictures were taken from each cute bloggers respective sites and links to their blogs are listed with their description.

Wendy Cheng / Xiaxue

It’s hard to talk about top bloggers in Asia without mentioning Xiaxue, she’s a Singaporean blogger who’s blog boasts 50,000 views per day! She’s also been rated as one of the top 100 blogs by Technorati, a feat that’s extremely difficult to obtain. In fact, each blog post of Xiaxue garners at least 300 comments!

Just like any rockstar has their haters, blogstars get their own share of jealousy and anger. If you’re one of the anti-Xiaxue readers then you’re probably already complaining and saying that she just photoshops all her pictures. Something that Xiaxue herself admits: “…Do not give the credit of those looks to me! Give it to Adobe Photoshop. My pictures are all enhanced (and trust me, I am good at it), so minus 40% and you get the real thing. =D” she says in her blog. But all I have to say is that it’s her blog that’s famous. We all get to see her blog, and rarely her. So if they are photoshopped… well who cares, it’s working! You can tell by the numbers.

Wendy Cheng’s personal blog had stories of travels, parties, fashion and more! But don’t let her seemingly sweet photos fool you as this top blogger also packs a punch! Her blogs have been known to stir up controversy and quarrels. She’s been known to have defamatory and even racist posts every so often. She even had a very controversial blog-off battle with another member in this Top 10 Cutest Bloggers list.

Nowadays, you’ll find lots of endorsers and a more calm and mature writer in her posts. Perhaps signs of growth and her growing popularity, or perhaps just a calm before the storm, waiting for the next big thing to catch Xiaxue’s bad side.

Unfortunately for the guys out there, this cute blogger is already married. Xiaxua was married to American Michael Sayre, whom she allegedly met online. They wed on 13 March 2010 at Italian restaurant Forlino.

Ringo Tan / Cheeserland

Ringo, Rin, Cheesillicious, Cheesie, Cheeserland or whatever you want to call this fashionista. Cheeserland is one of the top bloggers from Malaysia who mostly writes for her personal blog and thus, can have some random stuff in there. Mostly, her blogs contain fashion, travel, her dogs, hair tutorials (she loves styling her hair apparently) and her personal fashion cheats (how to look like magazine models or celebs).

Nowadays, Ringo Tan is known as a celebrity blogger from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She is known as “Cheesie” to many of her readers. Sources say that Ringo Tan loves cheese so much that she named her blog as such. Her blog shares her unique personality with readers and is updated very regularly. Trying to define her blog any more than that may be difficult as Ringo herself claims that both she and her blog are very “confusing.”

“Being confused is my nature. To find out the true reason behind my confused nature, you might have to trace all the way back to what my mom ate some 20 odd years ago years ago. I’m so confused even Confucius finds me confusing. I can hear your blasphemous screams already… “Michelle Phan isn’t from Asia?!!? You idiot!” Well…. my very judgmental and loud readers, first of all, I didn’t call this the “Top 10 Cutest Bloggers from Asia” list, did I? No, I called it the “Top 10 Cutest Asian Bloggers!” Someone from Michelle Phan’s lifeline was from Asia, Vietnam to be exact, so thus, I would like to argue that this RiceBunny still does fall under the “Cutest Bloggers from Asia” title. Secondly, she’s just too damn cute to leave off this list! Seriously, Michelle Phan is a make up artist, video editor, blogger and entrepreneur, a total package of beauty and talent, so how could I leave Michelle Phan off the list?

Michelle Phan is a Vietnamese American known for creating make-up and beauty tutorials on YouTube. Knows also with her other alias of RiceBunny, her YouTube channel has been viewed over 50,000,000 times and counting! In November 2010, Michelle reached 1 million subscribers and became the #1 most subscribed female on YouTube. Showing that she is indeed the Top Female Video Blogger out there.

Hannah Villasis / FlairCandy

Widely known as the Blogging Princess in the Philippines, Hannah Villasis is quickly making a name for herself through her blogs and media appearances. This sweet candy so full of flair was featured in Chalk Magazine’s Aug 2010 issue as one of the Top 10 Bright Young Talents to look out for.

Prior to becoming a full time blogger, Hannah Villasis worked Certified Public Accountant at an international banking company (Deutsche Bank). Showing that this beauty also has the brains to back her up.

FlairCandy is also a TV show personality, hosting the show called “Tek Tok TV” (Tech Talk TV) on the Global News Network. Furthermore, FlairCandy can be seen in numerous endorsements with companies such as Neutrogena, Pantene, Vaseline Healthy White Lotion, Axe and more.

She’s definitely one face that can launch a thousand ships and we’re predicting that she will be doing so in the very near future. Hannah Villasis / FlairCandy is definitely a blogger to look out for.

Before moving to the hustling and bustling streets of New york, top blogger Dawn Yang was known as Dawn Yeo from Singapore.

Dawn Yang / Dawn Yeo was voted as the “hottest blogger” in 2005 on the hottestblogger.com site (not active today). Also, in The New Paper’s annual Flame Awards 2005, Dawn was voted by readers as the “Babe of the Year.” Add to that, Dawn Yang was featured on the cover of May 2007 Maxim Magazine and on the cover of the Dec 2005 FHM Singapore Magazine and later voted into 21st place on FHM Singapore’s 100 Sexiest Women!

OK, so if you’re living in the Philippines and hanging out in the Twittersphere, then you know that Twitter was the number 11 overall site that Filipinos were hanging out at for 2009. Personally, I get so much news, cool links, funny videos and just plain awesome tweets from here, all condensed into 140 nifty characters.

Though, I must admit, it took a while for me to find out which Filipinos / Pinoys from the Philippines are cool or fun to follow. So here’s my favorite Filipino Tweeple that you definitely need to be following on Twitter!

@mistygirlph – I already talked about Misty on my previous post, but really quick, if you aren’t already one of the 18,000 people following her, then you need to start. She’s one of the co-founders of the “2009 Best New Blog” award recipient BitRebels.com that boasts viewers from 189 different countries and authors from all over the world as well. She’s a techie, a graphic artist, a “twitterholic” and just an overall nice person. (Oh and you should follow @bitrebels too)

@ninaterol – Nina is the author of the blog ChangeMakersPhilippines.com. I know…!!! Don’t you hate people who want positive change and empowerment of the powerless through social entrepreneurship and affirmative action! So yeah…. anyway, when this change maker isn’t doing all that change making, she’s tweeting about advocating causes, evangelizing ideas, working with civic groups, or blogging and social networking.

@jimparedes – one of the members of the legendary Philippine music trio – “The Apo Hiking Society,” Jim is one of the most fun and creative Tweeple to follow on Twitter. He’s a singer, songwriter, author, photographer, teacher, writer and more. Best of all, you can sense all his creativity and talents within his 140 character Tweets. You need to follow this creative guru!

@jasonqua – Jason is one of the founders of Fantastik!Manila, an integrated marketing communications agency. He’s a genius at helping clients properly communicate with their audiences to ensure a direct link between the brand and its consumers. His experience with events marketing and internet / social network marketing is highlighted in his tweets. He’s very selective with his Twitter links as well and only tweets the most informative, insightful and/or funniest links. He’s a future marketing and social network superstar. Start following him now.

@flaircandy – FlairCandy, or Hannah as some non-netizens may call her, is one of the top bloggers in the Philippines and Asia with her blog FlairCandy.com. She’s got a good following from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and a lot of other countries other than the Philippines. Though a self proclaimed geek and Certified Public Accountant, she often manipulates time and space to fit in crazy escapades like surfing, skating, cheerleading, karting and eating cow testicles. With so many new experiences and discoveries, it’s no wonder people love following her candy sweet Tweets.

@cocoy – not really sure where Cocoy is from or what exactly he does, but one thing I do know is that when he Tweets, he’s right on the money! He’ll usually tweet links to the best articles available for the top trending issue at hand in the Philippines or even around the world. Many times, the article will be one he wrote himself. Furthermore, these articles he writes always leave me impressed and wanting to read more. He contributes to filipinovoices.com, which is sorta like a justice league of Filipino writers, and blogwatch.ph which is comprised of the top Filipino bloggers banding together to blog and watch the 2010 Philippine elections in hopes of keeping it clean, fair and legal.

@momblogger – the editor-in-cheif for that said BlogWatch.ph site, momblogger is also one of the top bloggers in the Philippines who was dubbed a “Tribal Elder” because of her knowledge with social media and her undying support to the many beginners at blogging and online media. Momblogger, or Noemi, is often sought after for advice from the blogosphere all the way to top politicians.

There are many more AWESOME Tweeple out there in the Twittersphere, these are some of the top Tweeters and some of my personal favorites. I’m sure I missed out on many more but will definitely write more about that on part 2 of this list of Top Filipino / Pinoy Twitters you need to follow on Twitter!

Life in the Fast Lane

Finally got to ride my skateboards again! It’s a great release for me that calms me down and allows me to have fun. We each have our own refuges, our own little worlds that make us feel alive and safe. For me, it has always been surfing and skateboarding. The funny thing is that I love it so much, that I actually enjoy it even more when I get to share it with friends. I have three surfboards and two skateboards. I get extra ones so I can take friends out… lol. Yes, I’m a big geek like that.

Anyway, this Motivated Monkey took out a pretty Flair Candy for my first skate session in the Philippines. Cool pics ensued…..

P.S. – Yes…. I have very EMO titles for the pics…. lol
