What would you get yourself this Xmas?

The holiday season, especially Xmas, seems to be all about giving gifts to everyone. Stressing out about finding the right gift for your special someone, for your mom, dad, siblings, friends, cousins, kids, bosses, co-workers and so much more! Ahhhhhh just thinking about it is stressing me out.

On the other hand, have you ever thought that it might be the perfect time to also reward YOURSELF with a gift? I mean why not? I’m sure you’ve been working hard all year long! You’ve probably overcome a lot of struggles and hardships! So why not reward yourself with a gift this Xmas as well!

So today on my radio program, The Wake Up Show, on Mellow 94.7, we asked our listeners: “What do you want to get for yourself this Xmas? What gift do you want to treat yourself to and why?”

Valentines Treat Package Winners from The Wake Up Show

Valentines Treat Package Winners from The Wake Up Show

Hey guys! Thanks for joining the Valentine’s Treat contest we had! There were way too many entries so we instead picked some consolation prize winners.

For the top winner, again, “likes” were worth 50% and then the picture itself and the comment was worth another 50%.

Anyway, the grand prize winner gets dinner for two at Outback Steakhouse. A bouquet of flowers from Paraiso Flowers and a SPAradise Couple’s massage treatment from BlueWater Day Spa.

And the GRAND PRIZE WINNER is…..

Mia Guerzon Rivera!

Here’s her entry:

Mia Guerzon Rivera!

Here’s her entry:

Good day everyone! This is me and my Mom. This photo was taken 3 years ago. I’ll tell you a story behind this photo. It was a Saturday morning, and I was planning to surprise her about something. This picture was taken an hour after we woke up. Then I gave her a little something. I made up some tickets, like passes for a concert, from truly yours, also starring truly yours (hehe), for a lunch, a free massage, a free movie ticket, and a dinner. And I really, really, really, had a hard time saving money for that, ’cause I’m just a student. LOL. :)) And I really want to give her something that would surprise her, ’cause her Birthday’s coming, and I still don’t have enough money to have a surprise for her happen. And then this treat came up. So, I’m hoping against hope that I get to win this. Her birthday’s 0n the 17th. It’s been years since we’ve bonded like crazy; she’s got lots and lots of work to do, so a day off would be perfect. :))
When I was younger, I often ask my Mom how come she’s alone every Valentine’s day if the season was for couples. I always wonder, that’s why one day, she gave me the answer that I’ve been dying to hear.
“Dear, Valentine’s day isn’t just about couples, or those who are in a relationship.. It’s about giving love..” She said..
Pretty simple, isn’t it? But meaningful, really.
My mom is my best friend. She’s different from the other mothers I’ve known. She’s cool, and I can talk to her about everything.. She’s my protector. I remember one time when I have been into trouble.. She asked me if I wanted her to fight for me.. And because of that, I’ve loved her even more..
This Valentine’s day, I want to thank her for all the sacrifices she’d done for me and my brother.. She’d taken full responsibility for raising us alone.. She’d worked non-stop for us to live our daily lives.. Yet, she still remained to be a model mom..
Mom, Happy Birthday.. Happy Valentine’s too.. I’ll always remember what you’ve taught me. Thank you for having me and my brother.. Thank you for giving us this life.. I’m so lucky to have you as my mom.. You’re my number one.. Joining this contest is just a little thing to do, compared to all the thing s that you’ve done just to raise us up.. And don’t ever think that you’re alone.. You are never.. We, your children, are always here for you, no matter what..
I PROMISE TO LOVE YOU EVERY MOMENT OF FOREVER, My dearest Mom.. 🙂

CONGRATULATIONS to Mia!

Since there were so many good entries, we decided to give away some consolation prizes! A SPAradise Couple’s Massage package goes to each of the following winners below.

For the consolation prizes, the picture was worth 50% and the comment another 50%.

This is me with my Kulet, we call each other kulet and we’ve been together for 6 yrs. and 11 months. I think we deserve this V-day treat ‘coz we’re so stressed nowadays and having misunderstandings because we don’t have enough time for each other since we’re both graduating this coming march. This V-day treat would mean a lot to us, rekindle the old flare we had before. (p.s we’re both avid fans of mellow! we always listen to The Wake Up Show every morning on the way to school!) =)

Au Reyes-Manalo

Hey! Hey! My Valentines entry is for me and my husband. We hope to enjoy your awesome Valentine Treat. Technically, we’ve been together for almost 8 years now. “Technically”. because we’ve been bf/gf since 2003 and he broke it off when we were 3.5 years (let’s just say, he wanted to see if his charm still works with other “fish” in the ocean…;-) ). After his journey, he still realized that his only “bliss” was with me, so he woed his way back and we decided to give it another spin…so true, love is sweeter the 2nd time around and everything went smoothly and as if nothing happened. We decided to tie the knot year 2009 and were given the most wonderful gift, who will turn 7 months the day before this Valentine’s Day…our own little angel. Having a precious addition to our family is priceless, all the sleepless nights and playtime with our baby was all worth it when you see your baby smile back and giggles with you. It would be equally splendid if we would be able to spend this coming valentine’s day together and appreciate each other’s company and rekindle the ‘old times’ like bf/gf with Mellow947 Valentine Treat. Having a day of rest from our very busy role – parenthood. Thank you and more power to your show!

Inna Villa

Hi Vince and Tracy! Okay, so this is the first time i’ll ever join any competition like this, and im so excited!! HAHA! Plus i always listen to you guys so its more exciting ♥
Anyway, I introduce to you my parents, and i am hoping to win the Valentines Day treat for them! For me, they truly deserve this because of all the things they do for us siblings. This is just one way to show how thankful we are for taking good care of us, for always being there and being the best parents ever. They need to relax and spend some time with each other!! They’ve been so busy with work and helping my siblings in school and i think this treat is just PERFECT for them 🙂
I know they’ll appreciate this and I just want to make them happy 🙂 thanks for giving us this opportunity! God bless you guys 🙂

aside from valentines day… my gf and i also celebrating the most special date of us being lovers – our anniversary:) of course… it doesn’t matter to us where or how much would be the cost of our date, what matter is that she’s with me and the love we built 7 years ago…keeping stronger and better – completes me indeed!
I’m happy because I have her. I know flowers and chocolates and even just a word couldn’t explain how thankful I am. Each day, my heart races giving me the reason to live. Our time together is so special because it’s filled with love. And If there’s one thing that I’ve done best in my life, it would be the day I started loving her. She’s a lover and friend to me. It feels like a comfortable refuge on her shoulders. She allows me to be myself. I love hier today and I will love her until my last breath.
enough reasons to surprise her with a valentines treat c/o of
The Wake Up Show! she’s a big fan to say! crossed fingers!

Vince Golangco for Project Headshot Clinic by Niccolo Cosme for World Aids Day

It’s a brilliant concept that is quickly taking the Facebook profile pictures by storm!

Billboards can help spread the word and in today’s new digital age, your profile pictures can be seen just as many times as the top billboards out there along EDSA or New York Times Square. So why not use this knowledge and the internet to help put up an online billboard to help.

I want to thank master photographer Niccolo Cosme for spreading awareness through his lens.

Project Headshot Clinic: Saving humanity through profile pictures.

Radio DJ / Blogger – Vince Golangco for Project Headshot Clinic

Project Headshot Clinic – ACT

The Project Headshot Clinic for 3 years has given a different look at to profile pictures online, it became serving as online billboards on online social networking sites and everyone in it, who participated in Project Headshot Clinic became an instant endorser of the product being advertised, or the cause that was being advocated for whatever that is being advertised, commercial or a particular advocacy.

For over the past three years, the Headshot Clinc team has partnered with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) in fighting and responding to the challenge of HIV/AIDS.

The first awareness campaign of headshot clinic and UNAIDS in 2008 was called “AWARE”, followed by in 2008, and then “MOVE” in 2009 a follow up of the first one which aimed to move people from awareness to readiness to respond and act on this specific issue. This year’s, “ACT”, a clear call to action, where voluntary HIV screening and counseling was provided on given shooting dates by Take The Test and ASP (AIDS Society Philippines).

All headshots will be released online and should be used as primary profile pic on all the participant’s social network sites on December 1, 2010 which happens to be is the global celebration of WORLD AIDS DAY.

To do my part in helping spread AWARENESS, here’s a little more info about HIV / AIDS.

WHAT DOES “AIDS” MEAN?

AIDS stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome:

  • Acquired means you can get infected with it;
  • Immune Deficiency means a weakness in the body’s system that fights diseases.
  • Syndrome means a group of health problems that make up a disease.

AIDS is caused by a virus called HIV, the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. If you get infected with HIV, your body will try to fight the infection. It will make “antibodies,” special molecules to fight HIV.

A blood test for HIV looks for these antibodies. If you have them in your blood, it means that you have HIV infection. People who have the HIV antibodies are called “HIV-Positive.”

Being HIV-positive, or having HIV disease, is not the same as having AIDS. Many people are HIV-positive but don’t get sick for many years. As HIV disease continues, it slowly wears down the immune system. Viruses, parasites, fungi and bacteria that usually don’t cause any problems can make you very sick if your immune system is damaged. These are called “opportunistic infections.”

HOW DO YOU GET AIDS?

You don’t actually “get” AIDS. You might get infected with HIV, and later you might develop AIDS. You can get infected with HIV from anyone who’s infected, even if they don’t look sick and even if they haven’t tested HIV-positive yet. The blood, vaginal fluid, semen, and breast milk of people infected with HIV has enough of the virus in it to infect other people. Most people get the HIV virus by:

  • having sex with an infected person
  • sharing a needle (shooting drugs) with someone who’s infected
  • being born when their mother is infected, or drinking the breast milk of an infected woman

Getting a transfusion of infected blood used to be a way people got AIDS, but now the blood supply is screened very carefully and the risk is extremely low.

There are no documented cases of HIV being transmitted by tears or saliva, but it is possible to be infected with HIV through oral sex or in rare cases through deep kissing, especially if you have open sores in your mouth or bleeding gums.

Fact or Fiction

The Great Wall of China is visible from the moon

Fact or Fiction

If you pluck your hair, more grows back.

FICTION

On an episode of Sex and the City, or “The Show That was Great Before the Second Sequel,” Samantha is upset over a grey hair. She goes to pluck it but decides against it. As she tells our heroine Carrie Bradshaw, “If you pluck it, ten more will come to its funeral.”– is Samantha’s anxiety based in truth?

No, no, and more no, according to experts. When your shaved hair grows back, it is initially short and stubbly. The longer hair is, the softer it becomes. So while it may seem like the gods are punishing you for taking a razor to unwanted hair – it’s really just the biology of your body

Fact or Fiction

You will ruin your eyes reading in dim light.

FICTION!!!!

But reading in dim light can certainly strain your eyes – it’s just that those itchy, burning tired eyes will restore themselves. No permanent damage is possible.

When you walk into a room where light is low, your eye adjusts in several ways. When you read, your eye must be able to focus an image of the words onto your retina. To do this, the iris, as well as the muscles that control the shape of your lens, must contract to keep the focused image on the retina.

If you read in low light, your visual muscles get mixed signals: Relax to collect the most light, but at the same time, contract to maintain the focused image. When that object is poorly lit, focusing becomes even more difficult because the contrast between the words and the page isn’t as great, which decreases the eye’s ability to distinguish visual detail. That ability is called visual acuity. Your eyes have to work harder to separate the words from the page, which strains your eye muscles.

When your eyes are working this hard for a long period of time, they become tired, much as any muscle would. The strain may result in a number of physical effects including sore or itching eyeballs, headaches, back and neck aches and blurred vision. Because you often don’t blink enough when focusing on a single object, you may also experience uncomfortable dryness in your eyes. None of these symptoms damage your eyes, and they eventually go away. If the symptoms don’t go away once you stop straining your eyes, however, then see an eye doctor. You may have an underlying eye problem like nearsightedness; the fact that the symptoms of eye strain overlap with those of nearsightedness is likely a reason why some continue to argue that reading in dim light causes permanent damage.

For now, it seems, the eyesight of children who read by flashlight is safe. Still, it’s certainly easier on your eyes to read in good light that falls directly on the page without causing a glare. You can also avoid eye strain when you’re reading by blinking frequently and taking a moment to focus on something out the window or across the room every 15 to 30 minutes.

Fact or Fiction

The actor who portrayed the “Marlboro Man” in TV and print ads for cigarettes died of lung cancer.

FACT

The tobacco industry was one of the first to advertise on television.  Phillip Morris’ campaign for their Marlboro brand of cigarettes – depicting a rugged cowboy known as the “Marlboro Man” – was one of the most successful and long running.  Conceived in 1954, the campaign ran until cigarette advertising was banned from TV in January 1971 – and continued in print for many more years.  During that time, several different men portrayed the Marlboro Man, two of whom died of lung cancer.   David McLean, who appeared in TV and print ads starting in the early ’60s, died in October 1995 at age 73.  Wayne McLaren, who posed for print ads in the ’70s, died in July 1992 at age 51.

“Almost” is the longest word in the English language with all the letters in alphabetical order

Fact or Fiction

If you are attacked by a shark, you should punch it in the nose as hard as you can.

FICTION

While this strategy has worked for a lucky few, it is not one that is recommended by shark experts.  Most marine biologists advise that you not do anything that might agitate or injure the shark, as that could make it more aggressive or attract other sharks to the area.  If you do feel threatened, use a stick or other tool — rather than your hands — to fend it off, and poke it in the eyes or gills instead of the nose.

Actually, this widespread misconception about how to fend off a shark attack has even spawned a joke:

“Marine biology researchers have developed a new method to fend off shark attacks. If you are diving and are approached by a shark, they recommend that you swim toward it aggressively and punch it in the nose as hard as possible.

If this doesn’t work, beat the shark with your stump.”

World’s Largest Penis – 13.5 in

The official rank of the largest penis belongs to a man measured and documented by Dr. Robert Dickinson in the earlier part of the twentieth century. This record-holding penis was 13.5 inches (34 cm) in length and 6.25 inches (16 cm) in circumference.

And  the living owner of the world’s biggest human penis is Jonah Falcon. Falcon’s 13-5 inch member has been measured for a TV special, making him one of the few guys who can back up his bodily boasts.

Fact or Fiction

A man died after playing video games for more than 24 hours non-stop

FACT

in fact, several men have died after marathon video-game sessions, particularly in 24-hour cybercafes that are popular gaming venues in Asian countries. In South Korea, a 24-year-old man died of exhaustion after playing for 86 straight hours in 2002; and a 28-year-old man who had recently lost his job because he spent too much time playing Starcraft died of heart failure in 2005 after a 50-hour session. A 27-year-old Taiwanese man reportedly passed away in 2002 after playing video games for 32 hours, and in 2007, a man fainted in a Chinese cybercafes after three straight days of gaming. Perhaps these cybercafes should impose time limits.

Reason to party today – coz it’s happy hour somewhere in the world.

Grandparents Day – September, first Sunday after Labor Day

Grandparents’ Day is a far more recent invention than Mother’s Day or Father’s Day. It was fostered by Marion McQuade, and a presidential proclamation on September 6, 1979, made it official. It is observed throughout the United States on the first Sunday after Labor Day, except in Massachusetts, where it is observed on the first Sunday in October.

There are a number of ways in which grandparents can be honored and their day celebrated. One is to invite real or “adopted” grandparents to school for the day, where they participate in their grandchildren’s classes or special assembly programs. Gift giving is not as widespread on this day as it is on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day.

Video Games Day

Sept 12. A day for kids who love video games to celebrate the fun they have playing them and to thank their parents for all the cartridges and quarters they have provided to indulge this enthusiasm.

Fact or Fiction

You get infected with sore eyes if you stare at someone already infected directly in the eye.

FICTION

This is a myth which very popular in the Philippines. But in reality it is not the looking at the eyes of the infected person that gets you the sore eyes. When you are somewhere near a person with sore eyes, you are likely touching the surfaces that he/she already touched.

Involuntarily you also touch your eyes which eventually give you the same infection. It was misconstrued then that just by looking at the eyes of the infected can get you infected but in reality it is the unforeseen incidents that occurs before and after the looking at the eyes of the infected person. .

Sufficiently Big Melons Can Keep You Out of Prison

You would think that the only way breasts could keep anyone from doing jail-time is if that person went back to the judge’s chambers and let him touch them for a couple of minutes. But luckily there are less sad examples of the twins providing legal representation in court, as was the case with Serena Kozakura.

In 2007 Serena Kozakura, 38, was convicted of property destruction after she allegedly kicked in the wooden doors to an unnamed man’s apartment and trashed it to hell. However, during a reenactment of the crime, Kozakura proved that the hole someone made in the door was way too small for her and her impressive 44-inch chest to crawl through.

Based on just that, the woman was acquitted. It’s probably safe to say she will never curse her massive knockers ever again after it turned out they are her own personal pair of top notch defense lawyers. Oh breasts, is there anything you cannot do?

Southern Hemisphere Hoodie-Hoo Day

Aug 22. Long awaited by our “southern-half” friends, this is the day to go outdoors at high noon and yell “Hoodie-Hoo” to chase winter and make ready for spring, only one month away.

It is s a day to chase away winter and bring in spring. After all, everyone in the northern hemisphere is sick and tired of winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all winter and not seeing the sun.

Did you know? Hoodie Hoo Day is a copyrighted holiday. It was created and is provided, courtesy of the great folks at  Wellcat.com

Fact or Fiction

The worm in a bottle of Mexican tequila is an aphrodisiac or hallucinogen.

FICTION

First of all, there are no worms in tequila bottles from Mexico. It is a similar spirit, mescal, that contains the legendary worm. Mescal is distilled from the fermented sap of the agave plant, which also happens to host the gusan rojo worm, which is actually a butterfly larva.

When entrepreneur Jacobo Lozano Páez started bottling mescal in the 1950s, he noticed that these worms inevitably ended up in the mix, and gave the liquor a distinctive flavor. Rather than attempt to filter them out, Páez embraced the worm as an ingredient and came up with the marketing gimmick of including a whole worm in each bottle.

The worms are now raised on farms solely for this purpose, but they are just worms. While they are perfectly harmless to eat — if one is so inclined — they do not have any hallucinogenic or aphrodisiac properties.

Happiness

Moment of Zen

“When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”  – Paulo Coelho quote

How to Make Your Social Network WORK for You

WOW! My guest for my segment “Edumacate Me!” really prepared a lot of stuff for us!

TALK TOPIC:

How To Make Your Social Network Work For You (and everyone else)

We always hear about

Intellectual Quotient

Emotional Quotient from a popular book

How about Social Quotient

How to grow in social intelligence

I feel that endorsements and interviews are the two top ways to get a job. So in a way, they’re results of people liking you enough to recommend you or hire you.

How to make the change from being socially inept to becoming socially adept

I am not claiming to be a teacher, as I myself am still a student of life and relationship building

I’ve realized that when I meet new people, I have a tendency to ask not only

How are you?

But also

“How can I help you?”

Though I don’t always say it aloud.

We all appreciate help. Whether in finding jobs, clients, baby sitters, PR opportunities, or making our dreams come true.

Everybody wants to be Cinderella, but they’re not always successful because they want it for themselves. My suggestion is that we all become Fairy Godmothers to each other –We can introduce them to prince charming, make them a dress and take them to the ball. Because only when we are all Fairy Godmothers to each other can we all become Cinderellas too – our dreams come true.

Noone is ever self-made. We are all products of the kindness and generosity of people we’ve met along the way.

And so you can never say thank you enough.

PR for me does not only stand for  public relations, but it means personal relations

You only have one chance to make an encounter count. People may not meet you ever again. Or you may not meet them ever again. So make the 10 minutes they choose to spend with you a positive and pleasant time.

It only takes a moment, to make, or break an impression.

•         A moment is a retail of time.
Make the moment count.

•         It’s not only about the peso counter, but also about the personal encounter
From the onstage impression to the offstage experience

MAKE THAT ENCOUNTER COUNT

Don’t give them a chance to say cute nga pero snob. The best thing people can say about you is “Gwapo na, mabait pa.” Or “Mabait na, guwapo pa.”

What’s the use of knowing a lot of people to look for a job if none of them want to help you? You know those people you don’t ever want to see again? You don’t want to be one of those people right?

George Washington said in his Rules of Civility and Decent Behavior from the 1700s

Everything done in company must be in consideration of everyone who is present

Always be considerate of people who are on the same room, same street, same country – people who are going to be affected, sometimes disturbed by what you do. Ask Is this right, is this decent, is this considerate?

==

HOW TO GROW IN SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE

Don’t drop names of people you don’t really know or don’t know you

It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.

It’s not who you know it’s who knows you.

It’s not who knows you, its who likes you.

Don’t overpromise. Don’t talk too much. Just do your best, pray for the rest and let the results do the talking.

Try not to backstab. You don’t want to see bloody backs everywhere right? You don’t want someone to have a bloody back. You don’t want a bloody back. So don’t stab people with sharp words, especially behind their backs.

Strive not to improve others, but to improve yourself in patience, tolerance and understanding.

Words can break relationships. Especially those you hear from other people.

Conversations are two-way dialogues. They’re not monologues. There was a guy I’ve hung out with thrice already  before he found out (from someone else) where I worked and what I do.  Then he seemed surprised. That’s because he never asked me.  He kept on talking about himself for hours on end. And I didn’t want to interrupt his monologue.

Here are the top recent realizations I have while learning about PR or what is commonly known as public relations, but what I call Person Relations

1. Showing up is the greatest compliment. Staying in touch is the second best compliment.

2. The 24-hour cancellation policy should apply not only in restaurant or hotel reservations but also in social commitments. It’s hard to book another guest, as much as it is to book a new appointment in your day.

3 It has always been my job / second nature to invite friends and strangers to events and goings on. But I only invite up to three times. Decline it, and you will not hear from me again. (Ping Pong)

4. Just say yes. I’m a yes girl. Yes to all invites, openings and opportunities. Let the wind take you to doors that open up for you. And some doors are opened up through invites.

5. I’m allergic to flakes. I hope noone lets it happen that they’re described as flakes. They’re people who say they’d come but actually don’t.

Inversely, I like it when people come on time – plus points for early. Reliability is key.

5.  Respect your word. I strive to live by ‘And the word was made flesh.’ They say ‘don’t say it if you don’t mean it.’ I say, don’t say it if you won’t do it. Make it real.

6. The easiest thing to do is to be happy for other people’s success. I don’t know why other people find it hard.

7. People must have a balance of confidence and humility. There are some who are painfully shy, and there are some who are PAINFULLY confident. Both are equally disturbing. Strike a balance and you won’t turn others away.

8. I don’t understand how people can make saying sorry a habit. How about not doing anything that requires an apology? And only say you’ll make it up if you really would.

Confident but not cocky. Cultured but not flashy.

Humility, gratitude, honesty, courtesy and genuine interest in others are still key.

Confident but not self-absorbed.
Well-bred but not flaunting.
Accomplished but not flashy.
Initiates but not flaky.
Humility and genuine interest in others are still key.

Rule of the world is give and take. We should all start in giving.

Start happy.

Live in peace.

Show up. Keep your word. And keep in touch.

I love socially adept people. They just know what to say, when to say it. How do they do it, and when did they learn it? Kudos to their parents!

Breasts are the first thing men notice in a woman

No news here. Research conducted at the Victoria University of Wellington showed that breasts are often the first thing men look at, and for a longer time than other body parts. Nothing to be ashamed since another study said that staring at women’s breasts for just minutes a day can improve a man’s health and add four to five years to his life.

Fact or Fiction

Cell phones are banned on planes because they might interfere with navigation instruments.

FICTION

Airplanes are specially insulated against foreign radio signals, and their communication and navigation instruments operate on different frequencies from cell phones. The Federal Communications Commission is actually the agency responsible for the ban, since the signals could potentially block telecommunication systems on the ground.

If someone makes a phone call from a plane, the signal would bounce across multiple cell towers at once, which could prevent other calls from going through. Yet some airlines in Europe, the Middle East and Asia have started allowing cell phone usage on flights.

Fact or Fiction

You get drunk faster in the air than on the ground.

FICTION

According to an old saying, one in the air is like three on the ground. That adage misses the mark though, because your blood alcohol level doesn’t actually change at a higher altitude as some think. With less oxygen reaching the brain because of the high altitude and the pressurized cabin, it might cause you to feel more intoxicated, but that’s about it.

Nevertheless, it probably isn’t a good idea to get hammered on a plane, if only out of courtesy to your neighbors.

Reason to party today – coz it’s happy hour somewhere in the world.

In the United States, Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain.

Filipino-American Friendship Day, July 4, is a day in the Philippines designated by President Diosdado Macapagal to commemorate the liberation of the country by joint Filipino and American forces from the Japanese occupation at the end of World War II.
